Pearl powder is a finely micronized natural superfood made from freshwater pearls, rich in over 30 bioavailable minerals and amino acids that the body recognises and uses with ease.
For centuries, it has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and practices to support skin health, overall vitality, and increasingly used to support eye health naturally.
But not all pearl powder is created equal.
In South Africa, access to pure, ethically sourced pearl powder is limited — and quality matters more than most people realise.
That’s why Pearl Powder South Africa exists.
Our focus is simple: to source the highest-quality pearl powder available, and to provide clear, grounded education so you can understand how to use it safely and effectively. We only use 100% pure pearl powder without any fillers or preservatives.

For me, this journey started with my eyes.
I was born with strabismus and had major eye surgery at the age of three. Growing up, I relied heavily on glasses, and over time, my vision challenges became something I simply learned to live with.
I was never able to properly read out of my weaker eye — everything was blurry, unstable, and difficult to focus on. My stronger eye carried most of the load, which led to constant strain, especially as I spent more and more time working in front of a screen.
Headaches, tension, eye fatigue — it became normal.
Like many people, I was managing the symptoms… but not really supporting my eyes in a meaningful way.
Everything began to shift when I was introduced to pearl powder in 2023.
Not as a quick fix — but as a way to begin supporting my body, and my eyes, more naturally.
Since then, I’ve experienced a noticeable difference in how my eyes feel day to day — less strain, less fatigue — and over time, something I didn’t expect:
I can now read small writing with my weaker eye, and my vision continues to improve over time.
It’s been a gradual, consistent process — but one that has made a real difference.
What I’ve come to understand is that caring for your eyes isn’t just about one thing — it’s about support as a whole.
Pearl powder can play a powerful role, both internally and when used topically — but it works best as part of a broader approach:
hydration, proper nutrition, gut health, and even simple eye exercises all play a role in how the eyes function and recover.
In some cases, I’ve seen that people first need to support and rebalance their gut before they notice meaningful changes elsewhere in the body.
Everyone’s experience is different, and I’m not here to make promises.
This is something you need to experience for yourself — in your own time, in your own way.
What I’ve experienced personally is also reflected more widely.
Pearl powder has been traditionally used to support eye health, and some clinical observations have explored its role in supporting conditions such as cataracts, eye floaters and overall eye function.
Many people today also share their own experiences of using pearl powder for dry eyes, eye fatigue, and long-term visual strain.
If you’d like to explore this further, I highly recommend listening to the conversation between Dr. Andrew Kaufman and Matt Roeske from Cultivate Elevate, where they discuss the deeper role of nutrition and natural support for the eyes.

I’m not a medical doctor — and this isn’t about making claims.
It’s about understanding that the eyes, like the rest of the body, require proper nourishment — and that when you begin supporting the body in the right way, meaningful changes can happen.
For many, pearl powder becomes more than a supplement — it becomes part of a more conscious way of supporting the body from within.

Oxidative stress plays a major role in the development of cataracts. Pearl powder contains trace elements such as Zinc, Selenium, and Magnesium, as well as proteins, which help reduce oxidative stress in the lens.
Studies suggest that pearl protein extracts can slow or reduce lens opacity, helping maintain clearer lenses. If you have eye problems or cataracts specifically, you can mix pearl powder with organic castor oil or coconut oil. and apply it to the eyelids and the area around the eyes, as well as take pearl powder internally.
In a human clinical trial, Dr Wang treated 28 cataract patients with 1,500 mg of pearl powder three times daily, while also applying it topically as an eye cream. After one month, 66% of patients showed visible improvement or recovery. This remarkable finding suggests that when properly nourished, the eyes have an innate capacity to regenerate.
While conventional approaches often replace natural tissue with synthetic materials, pearl powder provides the nutrients the eyes truly need to heal at their source. Our focus should be on feeding the eyes, not merely treating symptoms.

Pearl contains mainly calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which accounted for 91%, followed by silica, calcium phosphate, and ferric oxide as well as some trace elements such as sodium, zinc, iodine, manganese, selenium, and copper.
It also contains essential amino acids such as histidine, lysine, arginine, valine, threonine, proline, methionine, leucine, phenylalanine, tryptophan and non-essential amino acids such as aspartic acid, glycine, alanine, glutamic acid, tyrosine, and serine.
Adding pearl powder to your daily regimen can help boost your skin, hair, nails, cognition, and much more!

I am Letitia Webber, the Founder and Visionary behind Pearl Powder South Africa.
My journey with pearl powder began when I experienced its impact firsthand — particularly in supporting my own eye health.
What started as a personal exploration quickly became a deeper calling: to source the highest-quality pearl powder and make it accessible to South Africans with clear, responsible guidance.
I am not a medical doctor — but I am deeply committed to ethical sourcing, education, and helping others understand how to use this remarkable superfood safely and effectively.
TOPICAL PEARL POWDER APPLICATION WITH CASTOR OIL
Castor oil’s unique molecular structure allows for deep penetration into the skin, making it an excellent carrier oil for natural supplements. Its occlusive properties help form a protective barrier while delivering nutrients to the skin.
When combined with pearl powder, this natural blend can be applied to the delicate under-eye area where castor oil’s anti-inflammatory properties may help reduce puffiness and improve skin texture. The combination of pearl powder’s minerals and amino acids with castor oil’s moisturizing benefits can help nourish the delicate skin around the eyes.
Results typically appear within 2-4 weeks of consistent use, with benefits accumulating over time:
Week 1-2
Week 3-4
Month 2+

I have struggled for years with dark bags under my eyes, no matter what expensive creams or treatments I tried. Every morning, I would look in the mirror and feel defeated. Nothing seemed to work… until now!
A month ago, I started using Pearl Powder, and I’m still in disbelief at the results. I’ve been alternating between taking it internally one day and mixing it with castor oil to apply around my eyes the next. And let me tell you - it’s incredible! The bags under my eyes have dramatically reduced, and my skin looks so much healthier. It feels like a miracle!
But that’s not all. For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with frequent headaches. Since I started taking Pearl Powder, not a single headache! I can’t even begin to express how life-changing this is for me. I am beyond grateful to have finally found something that works.
Take 1–2 capsules daily. Many people prefer the evening, as its natural magnesium and trace minerals support relaxation and a good night’s rest. You can also take it any time of day - swallow the capsules, or open them and blend the powder into smoothies, herbal teas, or your favourite drink.
